Requested by freelance musician Andreas Wetås Jara on behalf of Stavanger Musikkammerfestival, I was asked to make a logo and an illustration for their upcoming show «TrillTrall - Jakten på melodien». I asked my good friend Anja Krag (Anjakrag.com) to make the illustrations together with me.
The brief of the customer in Norwegian:

The brief of the customer translated to English:

The search for the melody

For every person living on earth there is at least one unique melody. Some melodies are inherited, others are borrowed and some are forgotten. Suddenly one day one of the most popular and well-known melodies in the world disappears. Has it been lost in all the myriad of sound, or is it out there somewhere? We embark on a journey in the world of melody and harmony, in search of the lost melody.

The children's performance is based on the interaction between music, dance and drama. The newly composed music will draw inspiration from various genres and motifs found in the older and newer music history. We want the performance to be a good arena for children to explore their musicality and creativity, and that the performance can lead to the urge to create and creativity being awakened in the young audience. We made a couple of sketches to discover if we were the right fit for the job or not and quickly found out: great minds think alike. The customer loved the sketches, and went for the center one below this text.
We then put together some colors together with the customer, and went on to drawing the sketch in a bigger and more detailed format
We gave the customer a few options, but they had fallen in love with the original sketch, and so the more detailed version of the original came to life:
And lastely, we put the logo and the illustration together to a poster for them to use. This was printed on posters, and used for digital marketing.
