On request from Norges Astma- og Allergiforbund (NAAF), we were asked to make an improvement of their existing product 'Jonas masken'.
The mask is ment for those who struggle to breathe outdoors when the temperature gets below -10 degrees celcius. It also has to be able to be worn by people with allergies and sensitive skin.
As NAAf has several options for their cold-masks (both for sport and for general everyday use) we wanted to make more than one option.

We made a lot of research regarding fabrics, and ended up with a lighter version (grey) inspired by the look of selfmade corona face masks. The fabric is a mix of cotton and nylon, which can be worn by most people with general allergies. This mask is meant for outdoor activities and everyday use between 0 to -10 degrees celcius.

The heavier version is made out of a fleece-like fabric we received from NAAF as one of their own approved and used textiles. This is meant to be used on colder days: -10 to -20 degrees celcius.
We made coherent dust-bags to carry the masks when not in use. The dust-bags can hold both the mask and the filter.
The new filter is made out of dense aluminium, as aluminium can keep heat quite efficiently. It keeps the heat from the exhale, which it uses to heat up the cold air that is then inhaled.
A common complaint from the users of the Jonas mask was that the old filter didn't sit still, and did not hold its' place.
We've tried to fix this by sewing buttons to the inside of the fabric.
Easy to adjust in the back and compatible with other everyday outerwear such as a helmet.
Clean appearance yet still recognizable with the reflective NAAF logo.
