A multi-brand Jewelry store located in Karl Johan.
In 2020 I was laid off from my old job due to corona. During the layoff I was offered to help start a jewelery shop in Karl Johan through contacts.
The premises had previously been operated as a a Marc Jacobs store, and later a Kate Spade store. Now the owner wanted to create something completely new, and asked me:
Can you create the concept for me? Norway's very first multi-brand jewelry store?
I had never created a logo before other than my own for my freelance art- and graphic design business - a business containing only me. I told my employer this, and he answered:
"No worries: Give it a try, and if it's not the right time for you I'll hire a design firm."
And so I tried.
The logo was easy enough, I had gotten clear guidelines.
On to the next challenge...
And the one after that...
And suddenly I had covered an entire ice cream cart in foil:
The graphic design tasks very many and many were urgent, but I was always allowed to take my time and have total artistic freedom in my deliverables.
I was super lucky to get to make installations in the store as well
I designet my first ever window exhibition: a 3 x 4 meter long foil.
I have since replaced it several times, you can see two of them in the video to the left.
The designers title at Euphoria gave me room to fail and room to grow, and today I feel more confident in my design skills than I ever thought I could.
Euprhoria are continuously having big brands (who are also clients of them) collaborating with them, where I offered free design services for them to make the cooperation smooth and fun for the customer.
I did all the graphic design for the workplace, and I consulted my choices with my coworkers before e.g. ordering these thank you cards that was made in the fa.l of 2022. (thank you cards for spring 2023 further up on the site.)
I worked in the store as an employee for the customers to ask, and a designer for the business to also ask. I had a low threshold for staring and finishing a design project, and was lucky enough to get nearly all of them realized through my workplace.
Here I am working on the new window exhibition that went up in October of 2022:
This time we also put foil on the door, featuring our opening hours on each day of the week.
In the end of 2022 I resigned from Euphoria, waving goodbye to my role as their in-house designer, but continuing being a frequent visitor and a big fan of theirs.
Euphoria Jewelry is also one of my clients, as I sell my own products there which I will be creating a seperate folder for soon.
